In a means to sensitize the Deltans on the importance and benefits of Technical Education to the society, the state commissioner for Technical Education, Hon Mrs Gbubemi Ikolo has inaugurated the Sensitiazation/Public Awareness Campaign for Technical Education Committee.
The inauguration was held at the office of the commission in asaba.
Addressing members of the Sensitiazation/Public Awareness Campaign for Technical Education Committee made up of Nine members, the Commissioner for Technical Education Hon Mrs Gbubemi Ikolo said the main aim of the committee is to at all times sensitize deltans on the importance of Technical Education and also project the on-going construction of Technical Colleges across the state by the state Governor.
Mrs Ikolo stressed that the committee will embark on a visit to all the local Government Areas where a modern Technical College will be sited, to educate and inform them on the importance of making use of the colleges.
She also charged them to ensure they erase the notion in the minds of many that Technical Education is for drop outs, and input in their minds the benefits of Technical Education as it plays a great role in the technological development of any nation.
Speaking on behave of members of the committee, the Executive Assiatant to the state Governor on Technical Education, Mr Michael Akpobire, appreciated the commissioner for putting up such committee, adding that such laudible idea will greatly help in educating the public the true importance of Technical Education.
He assured that the committee members will put in their best in ensuring that the set goals are meant.
The Sensitiazation and Public Awareness Campaign for Technical Education Committee is made up of Nine members, amongs who are Hon Mrs Gbubemi Ikolo as chairman, Michael Akpobire,Moses Bragiwa, Nosegbe Cyprian, Magboma Vincent, Joyce Ogu, Idiegbe Ufuoma, Awoso Harry, Emefiele Fidelis.
