The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has scored Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa high in the provision of standard facilities in technical schools in the State.
Engr. Husaini Muhammad who led a team of inspectors on accreditation exercise to the six (6)Technical Colleges in the state today, (18/10/17) said at the Sapele Technical College that he was impressed with the commitment of Governor Okowa’s administration to encourage technical education in the State.
Engr. Muhammad, stated that having been in the profession for decades, that he has not seen any Technical College or Polytechnic as transformed and equipped with modern equipment like the ones seen in Delta State.
He described Governor Okowa as hero of Technical Education in Nigeria and appealed to other Governors to emulate Delta State towards promoting Technical and Vocational Education as the only way to solve rising unemployment and poverty challenges in the country.
Chairman of the Delta State Technical and Vocational Education Board, Mrs Clara Obanor who took members of NBTE round the Technical Colleges, expressed confidence that the colleges would serve their purposes as skill acquisition grounds for youths.
