The State Commissioner for Technical Education, Hon. (Mrs) Gbubemi Ikolo has warned principals and teachers of Technical Colleges in the state against any form of illegal collection and examination malpractice in the colleges.Mrs Ikolo gave the warning during her visit to Agbor Technical College, in Ika North Local Government Area.
The Technical Education Commissioner was received on arrival by the principal of Agbor Technical College, Comrade Nwagimeje Sunday, who then led her to meet with teachers and staffs of the college.Speaking to them before inspecting the college, the Technical Education Commissioner charged them to be very active in their duty, and ensure that the students are very well taught and taken as priority.
She warned them against any form of illegal collection and examination malpractice, stressing that the state Government through the Ministry will sanction anyone caught in the act and will not look back.
During inspection of the different departments, Mrs Ikolo further warned against mis-using the equipments for the purpose it was provided, and charged them to ensure the students are well taught on how to use the equipments.
The Commissioner then directed them to make good use of the vase land to improve Agriculture, by involving the students in farming, and further directed the principal and agriculture department to use the means in becoming the food bank of Agbor.
Mrs Ikolo while reminding them of the state Governor’s interest in Technical education, also assured them that the ministry will see to the various challenges faced by the college.
The Principal of Agbor Technical College, Comrade Nwagimeje Sunday, appreciated the Technical Education Commissioner, Mrs Gbubemi Ikolo for the visit, adding that the state Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has done well in creating the Ministry, and appointing a workaholic like her as the Ministry’s first commissioner.
