The Delta State Commissioner for Technical Education, Hon. (Mrs) Gbubemi Ikolo, has charged principals of the six Technical Colleges in the state to brace up to the new challenge of taking Technical Education in the state to an enviable height.Mrs Ikolo gave the charge during a meeting with principals of the six technical colleges in the state at the Ministry of Technical Education, Asaba.Speaking with the principals, the Commissioner reminded them of the special interest of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the Technical Colleges, which is evident in the creation of the Minstry.She appealed to them to sit up in their duties by ensuring that the students are well taught and groomed to enable them become self-reliant and also employers of labour after school.The Technical Education Commissioner warn that Government will not tolerate the act of using quipments provided for their personal businesses, but should be used adequately to teach the students.The former first member SUBEB charged them to use the vase land space in their colleges to involve the students in farming.The commissioner while asking for their full cooperation, said the meeting was to formally inform them that there is now a Ministry for Technical Education which they are to report to at all times.The meeting was attended by the principals of the six technical colleges, and also Directors of the ministry of technical education.
